In the Kitchen: Protein Pancakes
So apparently I think I'm Martha Stewart or something. I've been on a bit of a cooking kick as of late, and I have to say, I don't hate it. My latest obsession? These protein pancakes I found on the Tone It Up website... THEY ARE UNREAL. Not only do they taste good, they're easy. Lord knows I don't have enough time to be cooking myself a full breakfast every morning. I wish!
Ingredients:1/4 cup egg whites (2 eggs)1 scoop protein powder2 tbs almond milk1 tsp cinnamon1/2 packet Truvia (optional)1 tbs ground flaxseed *I used my Magic Bullet to blend the flaxseeds instead of buying powder. I hear the Nutribullet is good too!*
Mix all the above ingredients together, then add 1/2 of a mashed banana.I also like to add blueberries to mine. A handful should be plenty.
Pour into a pan and cook like you would regular pancakes. The key with these is to cook them over medium heat as the batter is not as thick as regular pancake batter. It needs more time to cook and higher heat will just burn them! (I might have done that the first time I made them. JUST maybe.) Make sure the batter is cooked all the way through and you're done!
HELLOOOO BREAKFAST!
P.S. Please listen to this song and tell me it doesn't sound like the Black Keys. Truly.
