Illamasqua in Singapore – Photos & Haul!

By Kasthuri

Hola!

I was super excited about the news of Illamasqua finally being available in Singapore – I’ve not traveled in a while and have NEVER physically been to an Illamasqua store ever. Whatever Illamasqua goodies I have in my stash have all been bought via friends who’ve either traveled or ordered online so to finally see everything in person was very exciting for me.

I went to the counter in Robinsons Orchard twice – by the second trip, there were a couple more products and colours available so I imagine more will be added in the months to come.

Finally managed to get a whiff of Freak and Freak Scarab de Extrait – both were a little too cloying-sweet for me but the packaging makes you want to pick it up.

The nail polishes was the display I naturally gravitated to – at S$19 a pop, these were the first things I purchased. I have a couple of other Illamasqua nail polishes and together with the ones I swatched, like many others, I conclude that in general, Illamasqua’s nail polish formula is beautiful – self-levelling, intensely pigmented and glossy.

I was immensely tempted by the blushes – I think they are S$45 (along those lines) and I’d just purchased a Laura Mercier and NARS blush so I laid off. I made a beeline for the Pure Pigments (S$36) instead.

The teal-blue lipstick – Apocalips – was what had everyone in a tizzy – the BAs were all sporting it and it just piqued everyone’s curiosity. That …. and Illamasqua’s Guest Makeup Artist from Thailand who was in town for a demo a while ago. That was the best shot I managed amidst all the jostling crowd.

Do check out the Illamasqua Singapore FB album - loads of photos of the demonstration, some of which were really remarkable. I love this one in particular – they replicated the campaign image perfectly.

Here’s a look at what I carted home from Illamasqua at Robinsons Orchard.

Throb is a classic red cream (and on my wishlist since last year!). Charisma is a raspberry-pink laced with golden-ruby shimmer. These are shades that I get the most wear out of – I think I’m a little off the greens and teals for now.

Blizzard is new for Holiday 2013. It is a glitter polish – a mix of small and large silvered-white speckles that aim to create a snowfall or snowglobe effect on the nails. I loved this at first sight – it’s one of those polishes that will look good on top of practically any other nail polish shade. My first instinct is to pair it with a deep shimmering blue. I still have on my Gelish manicure which has grown out so I’ll be featuring these polishes once I remove my Gelish.

I also picked up 2 Pure Pigments – I always have an immense liking for pigments, although they require a touch more work (I use them foiled) but the intense colours and beautiful sparkles are well worth it, in my opinion.

Alluvium has been on my wishlist forever but I never got around to picking it up so I was super happy to see it in stock at our counter! Android is an amazing charcoal-black laden with silver, pink and green sparkles – the silver is the most prominent and it looks like crushed jewels on my eyes. I’ve worn Android out once so far – amazingly smooth application and zero fall-out throughout the day. I’ll also feature these soon as a proper LOTD. Now, I’m itching to pick up Ore. This is a never-ending saga.

What have you picked up from Illamasqua here?

Thanks for stopping by and have a fab day ahead!

love-kas2
