So is this product really worth all the hype? Keep reading this CosRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid review to know more.

Hype or Not: CosRx AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid Review

WHAT IS IT?

CosRx AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid is a skin savior for controlling whiteheads and sebum. It includes apple water containing natural AHA and Glycolic Acid. It exfoliates to deeply clean the skin, relaxes pores reduces excess dead skin problems and trouble issues such as whiteheads and blackheads. It also clears away old dead skin cells trapped inside the pores. Works alongside vitamins, whiteners and natural moisturizer treatments, it is managing dead skin cells without unnecessary stimulation. Helping skin management while creating a healthier skin with more vitality.

INGREDIENTS

Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Water - An alpha-hydroxy acid naturally-occurring found in sugar cane and malic acid, derived from apples, which will help to exfoliate dead skin cells, reduce the appearance of fine lines, sun damage and hyper-pigmentation, diminish the appearance of large pores and acne scarring.

A great ingredient for reducing blackheads, whiteheads and troubles on the skin. It even moisturizes the skin at the same time as removing dead skin cells. You will find your skin is smooth, soft, and comfortable.

The rest of the ingredients: Butylene Glycol, Glycolic Acid, Water, Niacinamide, Sodium Hydroxide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Xanthan Gum, Ethyl Hexanediol.

PERFORMANCE

APPLICATION: Since this is a highly concentrated formula, I recommend it to only be used in the evening. Spread lightly in areas where whiteheads and dead skin cells appear after using a toner to clean skin texture. And then use clean hands or cotton pad to spread on the face to absorb by patting softly with fingertips. If you feel severe stimulation or your purpose was just to remove whitehead and sebum, wash off after 4 to 5 minutes with lukewarm water. And then use an essence and cream after the use of CosRx AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid. And do not forget to use sunscreen in the next morning.

CAUTION
  1. AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid is a highly concentrated product. Please use a small amount in areas with whiteheads and dead skin cells. Begin with using only once a week, and after the skin has adjusted, use 2 to 3 times a week to maintain clear skin without dead skin cells, sebum, and whiteheads.
  2. When you use AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid, do not use other exfoliating products on the same day.
  3. After the use of AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid, use serum or mask products to moisturize your skin.

SCENT: This product is unscented, however, if you dispense too many into your palm or cotton pad you'll notice it has a mild scent of something like a mix of alcohol and paint thinner. It does not sting my nose because honestly, I don't smell it that much, but I've heard some people actually complain about it.

PACKAGING: It is packaged in a very sturdy pump plastic bottle that it almost feels like a glass bottle. While the box has the same minimalist design as the bottle, there's nothing cute in the packaging, unlike the CosRx One Step Pimple Clear Pad. Thus, it feels more like a medicine than a skincare product.

FORMULA: This product is really watery but slightly thick, like some jelly juice, so using a cotton pad feels like you're wasting some product. But it's your choice, and this product absorbs quickly into your skin anyway. Personally, I use cotton pads when applying this but I often use my palm as well when I feel lazy.

RESULT: I read some reviews before purchasing this product and I've heard that this can cause a "purging" meaning if you have closed comedones or whiteheads that won't surface, this will make it resurface thus it will look like you're breaking out in your first few uses. But continued use of AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid will make it disappear. But if those "breakout" won't go away and it causes you some redness and itchiness, then maybe you should toss it and get some calming product like By Wishtrend Teca 1% Barrier Cream.

On that note, I decided to use this product once a week instead of two or more even though my skin is very familiar with actives and acids. I apply this at night to wipe away the whiteheads and sebum only in areas where they are rampant and then wash it off with lukewarm water after 5 minutes. Despite that, this is really good on clearing those pesky little bumps that form in my chin or forehead. I get less breakout as well when I use this a week before my "red days". I actually only use this on days like my skin needs a good exfoliation, like a maintenance. And I never use this when I use another AHA like The Ordinary Blood Serum or during my doctor's chemical peel treatment.

VERDICT

PROS: Effectively clears your whiteheads and removes your sebum. It purifies and tones up your skin leaving is clearer and more bright. It also controls excessive sebum and achieves excellent moisture retention in combination with a hyaluronic acid. Lastly, it works well for sun damaged skin. Also, it is good for spots, dryness, and trouble.

CONS: It can cause some purging. And can burn your skin if you use it with other actives and acids like Vitamin C and BHA. Also it will make your skin vulnerable to sun so NEVER FORGET to use a suncreen the next morning.
