Xiaomi is expected to launch the Poco F6 series under their Poco sub-brand soon. Already multiple information has surfaced about the standard Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro handsets included in this lineup. However, nothing has been officially revealed about the upcoming series by the brand. But this time the company unexpectedly released an update regarding the Poco F6 Pro model. Let's find out what exactly is known about the upcoming handset.

Poco F6 Pro will be the rebranded version of the Redmi K70 phone

According to a GSMArena report, the update shared by Xiaomi revealed that the Poco F6 Pro phone is codenamed “Vermeer”, which is also the codename of the Redmi K70 handset launched in China. Xiaomi usually doesn't reuse any codenames on their devices. But it is believed that the brand is taking a bit of a lazy approach with the Poco F6 Pro handset and is using the Redmi phone codename. However, this link indicates that Poco's upcoming phone will actually be a rebranded version of the Redmi K70 model.

If the speculation is correct, the Poco F6 Pro will come with some interesting specifications. The phone is expected to be powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It has already appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform with the same processor and 16GB of RAM.

However, rebranding Redmi phones is not a new strategy for Poco. The brand recently launched the Poco X6 Pro, which borrows many features from the Redmi K70E handset. However, in order to cut the price, the Poco X6 Pro has made some compromises, including a smaller battery and slower charging support than the K70E model. However, it is believed that the Poco F6 Pro will not face the same limitations. The leaked information suggests that the phone will sport a large 6.67-inch OLED display with Sharp QHD+ resolution.

Besides, Poco F6 Pro will feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor camera system on the back of the phone. The phone is said to support 120W fast charging. A report earlier this week claimed that Poco might launch the Poco F6 Pro smartphone in the global market in June. So there is still some time left for the phone to officially hit the market. However, more information about the Poco F6 series is expected to surface in the coming days.
