How We Wore It: 8 Ways To Style Embroidery

By Marlen @mar_bear_
Ever seen a trend, liked it, but weren't necessarily sure if you could style it in a "you" kind of way? "How We Wore It" will show you how different women braved the trend and played with it until they got it to fit in with their styles- and hopefully that'll inspire us to poke a toe out of our comfort zones and try something new, too! Today's trend will be embroidery. Happy creating!
1
Make your colorful embroidery even more playful by pairing it with bright, poppy accessories. Fun sunnies will instantly give it a cheerful edge.
2
Pair your piece with classic, tailored items like clean-lined leather satchels, big-faced gold watches, and iconic Ray Bans for a quieter, more minimalist look.
3
If you've got any skill with a needle and thread, change your embroidered dress into a flirty two piece. Sets couldn't be more in right now, and the little bit of mid-drift gives you look a young, playful touch.
4
Give your overalls a break from crop tops and white button ups by popping your embroidered shirt underneath. The colors will look amazing juxtaposed against the denim, and the baggier the top the more laid-back and chic the look.
5
Clash your embroidery against other prints, like floral or stripes. It'll create a busy but not too overwhelming of a statement.
6
Go monochrome and style it simply and to its core elements. For example, if your embroidered top is white, match it with white shorts and then just add in a leather belt to create a line at your waist and a simple, delicate necklace for a touch of interest.
7
Or focus on creating interest with your shoes rather than messing with accessories. Choose gladiator, chunky, or lace up pairs to add an unexpected statement against the feminine piece.
8
Style the item sleekly by pairing it with high fashion pieces, like a killer pair or boots, statement sunglasses, or a sleek turtleneck (if it makes sense with your own piece). You can also try a little DIY and add fringe to the bottom of your embroidered dress or shirt to give it a fun pop.
