Whoa....my last blog post HERE received some tremendous response. Anyways, I am happy that my readers spoke up, their ideas and beliefs is of utmost importance to me and I always take heed of their input and switch things up that always adds more value to them.

Anyways, today it's another styling topic that we would be decoding- " HOW TO WEAR SHOULDER PADS WHEN YOU HAVE BROAD SHOULDERS? " . This 80's trend is back and I couldn't be more excited. I love structured, well-defined shoulders and seeing all the options around- I had to bring it up here. Ways how one can wear shoulder pads despite their broader shoulders and without looking like a wrestler. I am sharing not one, but two looks styling the same padded shoulders bodysuit.

Honestly speaking, I thought it would be really hard to style a padded bodysuit, but to my surprise I was able to put together not one but two different looks- both in a jiffy. It is all about proportions and if you can visualize and get the proportions right in your head, then anyone can wear this tricky trend, including ladies, like me, with broader shoulders.

When wearing shoulder pads try to keep the overall silhouette as form-fitting as possible. In my case I personally chose a bodysuit to keep the fitting as close as possible. This way I was able to tuck in the bodysuit to show off my slender, well almost slender, waist which sort of shifted the focus from the padded shoulders to the waist.

I would recommend choosing a bottom that has volume and flares down below the fitted waistline. This sort of balances the voluminous pads and gives you an hourglass shape. For my first look I chose straight baggy jeans and folded the hem further to add some volume in the bottom which thereby added visual appeal to the bottom half without clashing too much for attention with the shoulder pads. For my second look I chose the flared skirt- it offsets the strong shoulder pads and balances the look top to bottom.

I always advocate keeping one focal point in your outfit, which in my case should have been the padded bodysuit, but today I added another element as a secondary focal point- the feather shoes. It sort of draws attention away from the pads making it less of a concern for females with already broader shoulders. Keep your footwear sleek when wearing shoulder pads but if you are feeling bold- go for a statement making pair of shoes and slay!

For your final touch, choose longer chains or longer neck pieces when picking out your accessories to go with the shoulder pads. Necklaces with shorter links or even chokers would just add more volume to the neck area making the padded top look even busier and broader. But a longer piece would distract from the shoulder pads and add more drama without going overboard.
