How to Make A Hologram Projector for Your iPad or iPhone?
When I searched hologram videos in YouTube, I came across this video tutorial which lets you create a tool that can project holograms from your iPhone or iPad. This also works with any smartphone or tablets.
All you need to do is get the following materials and create an improvised tool that will project holographic videos right from your smartphone or tablet:
  • Clear Plastic or Glass (For this tutorial, I used plastic from a clear folder)
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Graph Paper
  • Tape
  • Marker / Highlighter
  • Hologram Videos from Youtube
For those who doesn't know what a hologram is, here is a brief definition from Wikipedia:
"A Hologram is a photographic recording of a light field, rather than of an image formed by a lens, and it is used to display a fully three-dimensional image of the holographed subject, which is seen without the aid of special glasses or other intermediate optics. The hologram itself is not an image and it is usually unintelligible when viewed under diffuse ambient light..." Source: Wikipedia
In short, a hologram is a 3D image recorded from a source and projected or beamed into a location which can be seen by the naked eyes without the use of special glasses.
Before, you can only see holograms in SciFi movies like Avatar, Star Trek, Star Wars and other futuristic movies which are mostly produced in Hollywood. Now, hologram is almost everywhere! For example, some concerts use holographic images which let two singers from different places sing together in a common stage. Hologram is now also being used in business meetings and presentations. Some big news channels like CNN also used hologram to deliver news during the American election in 2008. Those are just few examples where hologram isn't just for fun but for a good application as well.
I was so amazed by this easy trick! I think this is worth sharing so I blogged about it for the benefit of my readers. I hope you too will like hologram. If you want to entertain your family, your friends, or other people by showing something new to them, perhaps this little trick can help you. Just follow the above procedure and enjoy!
