The upshot of this war of the West against Russia is the neo-Nazi/neoliberal coup against the democratically elected government of Ukraine by armed bands of fascist thugs.
Unbelievably, the US and the EU both supported this unbelievably antidemocratic coup against a democratically elected government. The US has always hated democracy, but the EU’s democracy-hatred is something new.
The forces are lined up. On the one hand, we have the defenders of the democracy or freedom fighters in the US. The freedom fighters are represented by the democratically elected Ukrainian government, the Russian state and the overwhelming majority of the people of the Crimea, 98% of whom voted to exercise their right to self-determination in order to split away from the Ukrainian Nazi state and merge with Russia. For most of its history, Crimea has been a part of Russia anyway. It was only given back by Ukrainian national and USSR President Khrushchev in 1954 in an act of obvious ethnic chauvinism.
The haters of democracy are those who do not believe democratic votes or democratic rule. They wish to annul the democratic urges of the Crimean people to leave the Nazi Ukrainian state and merge with Russia. In a show of contempt for democracy, these fascists overthrew democratic rule in the Ukraine with the help of reactionary neoliberal and Nazi thugs.
As usual, the United States is leading the charge in attacking the defenders of democracy in the Ukraine. Bizarrely, the EU is following Uncle Sam but the worst performance of all has been of Israel. Israel was deeply involved in the neo-Nazi riots that overthrew democracy in the Ukraine. Israeli special forces were inserted into the Ukraine and fought hand in hand with rabidly anti-Semitic neo-Nazis, believe it or not! As the new Nazi government took hold in the Ukraine, attacks on Jews and Jewish institutions reverberated across the Ukraine. Jews were assaulted all over the land and synagogues were attacked and set on fire.
