Ned Vizzini, an acclaimed author (Teen Wolf) who sadly passed away late 2013 at the young age of 32. Chris Columbus famous film maker (Harry Potter) and screen writer (Goonies & Gremlins). Both authors collaborated and created the story - House of Secrets.
HOUSE OF SECRETS: The story follows a family with three siblings Eleanor 8, Brendan 12, and Cordelia 16, who once had everything from two loving parents, a beautiful house, and all the mod cons they could want. However, everything changed when their father lost his job and the family was forced to move house, a mysterious house in San Francisco. This is when the siblings find themselves on a journey to find a mysterious book of untold powers to not only save their parents, but also the world. They are taken into a different dimension without their parents and follow a magical journey with lots of fantastic characters and creatures along the way. This book was full of twists and turns, I never knew what to expect next, it was an exciting read, humor included, loads of fantasy fun and great characters. The baddie is the little old lady that turns into the wind witch, evil witch that will do anything to get her hands on the book.A great read for anyone aged 10 years or up, even adults will enjoy this, with over 500 pages, it is a real page turner.
Liam's summary: An exciting and fast paced read, I liked the story as it kept me captivated until the end. I liked this book as especially when reading it, I could picture everything with my imagination. There was lots of mystical action going on, that be fighting skeletons, crossing paths with funny pirates, toppling an evil queen, WW1 Fighter Pilot and so on.
We can't wait to read the next instalment of this adventure which was released on the 27th March - Battle of the Beasts.
