Holiday 101: Hand Luggage

Holiday 101: Hand luggage
Carrying on from yesterdays feature, here are some more tips for going on holiday. This holiday, I'm flying and as part of the package we're on, our suitcases are included so this is the first holiday where I haven't taken all my luggage as hand luggage.
It's important to remember that you have to carry this with you through the airport, on the plane, at the other airport until you get to your hotel/apartment/villa so it's important to remember to keep it light and only pack stuff you actually need.

So, as you can see, I'm using a satchel rucksack which I customised (click here to see how that was done) which means I have my hands free and it's super easy to carry. I'm taking my toy dog because I'm not the biggest fan of flying and I don't want to loose him so I prefer having him with me (I'm still a little kid at heart!), my iPad so I can watch films on the journey, my Kindle so I can read on the journey and my beats.
Remember that when you fly, there are many restrictions on taking liquids:
  • containers must hold no more than 100ml
  • containers should be in a single, transparent, resealable plastic bag, which holds no more than a liter and measures approximately 20cm x 20cm
  • contents must fit comfortably inside the bag so it can be sealed
  • the bag must not be knotted or tied at the top
  • it is limited to 1 plastic bag per person
  • you must show the bag at the airport security point
You should also check with whomever you're flying with, what the weight and size restrictions are as it could end up costing you heavily!
Stay tuned for a few more holiday guides today :)
