Highlighter Brights with White

Highlighter Brights with White

If you read my post about how to wear the neon trend, you've already seen this outfit. This is a "real life outfit" that I wore on a day out and about. It was one of those days that looked warm with clear blue skies but was quite windy with a nip in the air. I wore this look with my black Rothy's The Points but had the pumps in my car from a tailoring appointment and switched into them for this look and for meeting a friend for lunch.

I was thinking the color of this sweater would be lighter, more like my Everlane sweater but I like the highlighter green-yellow color which is so on trend this season. I wore it with regular denim but it felt harsh, I do like it best with white to make it feel current and soften the acidity. Some other ways I've styled it:

I think these ideas would work with any similar sweater in a variety of colors. As for this sweater, it's super soft and feels great on the skin but because of that it stretches out. I went with an XL because I've found Mott & Bow to run a bit small; I think I could have done a Large with this especially as it loosens up with wear. The sleeves are too long for me and without a band at the bottom, it was hard to keep them pushed up. I washed it on the gentle cycle in a lingerie bag and hung over a shower curtain rod to dry and it shrunk back and kept its finish and color. The sweater also comes in black and gray.

I've shared my love for Bandolier phone cases before but I need to rave again. Sometimes you just don't want to carry a purse. Street festival, sightseeing, a concert... the Bandolier is great because it makes your phone a crossbody with a strap length perfect for taking photos without having to remove it from your body. The case has a pocket on the back which can hold your ID, card, and a couple of bills. You can easily unclip the strap to use it as a regular phone case and even purchase additional pouches to carry more essentials. As soon as I upgraded to a bigger phone I got a new Bandolier, though this is the strap from an older version. They're easy to mix and match.

I think this is the first spring where I don't have just a pair of good white jeans but multiple pairs. I wear these from cabi and these from Talbots equally. The Talbots one have a higher rise but they both have a great fit, opacity, and keep their shape. As for this coat, it's several years old (here's the first time it made an appearance on the blog) and is great for rainy days, a good length with dresses as well as pants, and the color makes me swoon.
