By the time this post is up, I will be about 5,300 miles away. Exploring some cave or movie theatre set in a foreign land. For those of you whom are not my Instagram followers, you're missing out for I'm literally producing live content on my Instagram and Instagram story from New Zealand. Who knows, I may go live but we shall see. Anyways, today's post is a focus on the future. My future to be exact. From what you've read, this post was created to be scheduled. Initially I wanted to post my vlog 4 but with exams and a trip to prepare for, time was not on my side. Therefore, a future letter to myself will do.
How many of you have seen those "letter to my future self/past self?" article? Well, I have and I would like to join the gang and write a letter to my future self. My 27 years old self to be exact - after all in interviews they like to ask you what will you be doing 5 years from now right?
" Dear me,
I mean, hi!! Let's skip the formalities after all you're me and I'm you, right? I hope everything is per plan. By that, I meant proposals, marriage and all that stuff. If it's not and you're at square one, be quick. However, don't stress yourself over it. I'm not here to stress you. I'm here to check in. So, how are you? Are you making good decisions? Are you making decisions which you regret? Are you happy? I hope you are. After all, happiness should be your only goal at the end of the line.
What are you working as? Did you switch industries again? No, I'm not mad. Neither would mom and dad be. They just want you to be happy and not starve in this little expensive island. Please go to the dentist and doctor routinely to have a check on your body and your teeth. We don't want you to go before you finish your book, do we? Talking about the book, are you keeping the manuscript up to date? Have you started writing the first part or are you still waiting for 'housewife hood'/ retirement as planned? Please keep in mind that your goal is not fame, fortune or creating a dramatic book. I know it's tempting but no, that would be another story to tell. This book is to dictate your life as accurately as possible for the future generations.
If you're confused and lost about what to do at this age. I want you to know that it's ok. You were lost 5 years ago too. It's just a different kind of lost now, isn't it? Ok this not comforting at all but you'll make it. Don't be too hard on yourself. You always are too hard on yourself. I'm sure you've made another 5 years' worth of memories, mistakes, mischiefs and melodramatic-ness again. It's just a Leo thing. Don't sweat it. Are you still crazy about horoscope? They're fascinating, isn't it? I hope you've done something about all this information you've learned because it'll be such a waste if you don't. Talking about skills, what mad skills you've picked up this time? With such an inquisitive mind like yours, I'll be shocked if you picked up nothing. Did you fulfil your dream of learning the keyboard/piano? If not, you should.
And your parents. How are they? Do remember to take good care of them, after all they're all you've got and vice versa. I hope you don't get too busy growing up that you've forgotten that they're growing old too. I would be very disappointed in you if you did. On top of that, what about those people around you? Are they still the same? Are you working hard to keep them around? Even if they've changed or if they leave. It's ok. As long as you're true to yourself, the right people will stay. Those who don't, are not meant to be. Please reread this once again. I hope that you still like quotes as much as I do now. It helped us through a lot.
There's a lot I want to ask you, like are you still weird? Are you still boy crazy - I know the answer for that don't answer unless it's a yes. But the only question I want to ask is, how is IreviewUread? Is it still updated? Was it moved? Or is it done for? I know you'll never delete this but I don't know if you would continue this. Before you call this off for eternity, do keep in mind that IreviewUread had taken up a huge part of your life. It graduated with you twice. Went into the working industry and out again and it's still here. I would rather you move IreviewUread than you banish it from the face of the internet. However, if you still decided that it's too much work. I respect your decision and hope that you'll find a place to express yourself and be happy. Please don't blame yourself for whatever decision you make. The time spent was not wasted. I've learned and experienced so much because of this journey. And I hope that if you decided to end this journey, the new one which you are on can bring you even further then IreviewUread could ever have brought you. On the other hand, if you managed to continue this, congrats for IreviewUread is 10 years old! I don't know what journey IreviewUread pushed you through but I'm sure it'll all be worth it.
Oh, and before you go, I want to remind you once again "You're worth it." No matter what happens, who try to put you down. You will stand tall and face the world without a care in what others think of you. You're going to choose you in every decision you make because you are important. Your happiness is important. Be strong, be brave and move forward. No more buts, no more what ifs, only I dids. I love you and you should continue to love you too.
