This is my first time reading the poet.Unfortunately, Here, Is A Dying Lung just didn't work for me. I likepoems that use simple, straight-forward language. That's not to say the poemsneed to be about simple things. The most complex ideas and emotions can beconveyed in simple, heart-breaking language. The poems in this chapbook usecomplex images and language, the kind of stuff poetry snobs insist is 'realpoetry'. Sorry, not for me. I like to know what a poet is driving it, what themessage of a poem is. I don't like getting the impression the poet is beingpretentious and has a superiority complex.
