You need only 2 ingredients:

♥  Peeled, ripe banana(s) ….this is the main ingredient!

♥  Cocoa powder

Directions: You can use however many ripened bananas you want. More bananas, mean more ice cream! In a bowl, mash the peeled banana(s) with a masher or fork, until it is really smooth in texture and is well mashed with little to no chunks. Then simply mix cocoa powder into the mashed bananas. The more cocoa powder you add, the chocolatier it gets! Then chill the banana-cocoa powder mixture in the freezer for 1-2 hours (depending on how many bananas you mashed). Afterwards, take it out of your freezer and eat it!

Vanilla, Pistachio Ice Cream: Made by mixing mashed bananas, crushed pistachios, and vanilla protein powder. Chilled in the freezer for an 1 1/2 hours and then served.

Variations: For all you vanilla or strawberry lovers out there, you can simply mix in vanilla flavoured protein powder or ripe, sweet and mashed strawberries into the banana mixture to create vanilla or strawberry ice cream. You can even add nuts, such as almonds, pistachios or hazelnuts, into the mashed banana for enhanced flavor. As you can see, there are a lot of variation!

Tip: To make things simple, you can also purée the peeled bananas using a food processor, blender or simply putting them into a ziplock bag and smashing them with your hands.

This recipe is perfect for you if…

  • You want fat free options with less calories
