Having a Dog = Excuse to Buy Dog Accessories

By Crossstitchyourheart @TMNienaber

Well, it’s Monday again, so allow me to plug my sister blog Zombie Coffee Press.  We’re continuing with the poetry of Nathan Rowark.  It makes for a very quick read and it’s very good.  I think you’ll all enjoy it.  So go check out his most recent poem, The Heady Heights of Harietta Morgan.  We’re also showcasing an artist’s work over the next few weeks.  Gonzalo Canedo is a native of the UK and his work is just as fantastic as Rowark’s poetry, you can see his most recent picture here, but there is more to come!  And if you haven’t already subscribed to ZCP and enjoy what you see, feel free to subscribe over at my sister blog.  We love every single one of our followers!

Now, moving on to more personal matters.  I have returned to school after spring break and will be starting my two week Odyssey unit tomorrow.  Wish me luck!  Once these two weeks are over the rest of the year will be a breeze so I’m looking forward to pushing through and getting done.  I also have took the GRE and now that’s over and done with, and managed to do well enough I shouldn’t have to take it again.  Talk about another relief.

I had to leave my puppy behind to come back to school though, and I’m a little sad about that.  I know what a mess and hassle puppies can be, but I actually really enjoyed spending the time to train her and take her for walks.  Not to mention having a puppy is a great excuse to go outside and walk, as opposed to going outside and having to job because you’re by yourself and walking just makes you look weird…  But in just about a month I’ll be home with my puppy for good, so I think things will all work out in the end.  (And if you haven’t yet seen pictures of my adorable puppy, Frodo, check out my post from Sunday called “Adventures with Frodo”).

Whether I’m at home or not, Frodo is going to be one spoiled puppy…I can tell you that right now.  And in an effort to make her feel like part of the family, we got her her very own personalized dog tag in keeping with my personality.  Just in case no one knew she was my dog before…they will now.  All the information is engraved on the back, and this is much cuter than the plain silver one from the humane society.

Frodo is an American Bulldog-Rottweiler mix, so once she starts to grow up she will truly be a formidable opponent for any zombie…or burglar, mugger, bad guy in general.  Of course this also means lots and lots of training so she can tell the difference between a good guy and a bad guy, but I am very willing to put in that extra effort to have my zombie killing, orc slaying, hobbit-puppy companion!

I hope you all have a good week, go do something crafty!
