Harvey Postcard

It’s been a while since I posted any ephemera from the Harvey Comics corporate offices. Today I would like to share a postcard, sent from Circulation Director Allen Hardy to their wholesalers, saying that Harvey is going to prepare birthday and anniversary cards for them. I wonder if these cards were ever made. If so, I would love to document them here on the Harvey Mercheum. If you have any information on these cards, please leave a comment below, or use the Contact the Curator form.

I have mentioned before how a number of items in the permanent collection fall into a number of categories of collectibles. Postcards are very collectible, one of the first things I collected as a child were postcards. Based on the postage printed on the card being one cent, we can determine that this postcard is from between 1941, when Alfred Harvey founded Harvey Comics, and 1952, when postcard postage was raised to two cents. This makes this postcard older than the two corporate greeting cards I posted back in December of 2014. Enjoy!
