Today is Veterans Day, a day to honor and give thanks to our armed service veterans. Veterans Day originated as Armistice Day with the following words:
“To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…”

We can’t thank our soldiers enough for what they endure in the service and combat. So few of us will ever know the extent of sacrifice they gave to protect our freedoms and this great nation. We can only be humble and give thanks for them, their bravery, and commitment and honor.
