As you may know, in addition to this parenting blog, I also have a blog for writers and book lovers called Susan Heim on Writing. Since it’s much newer than this blog, I’ve been looking for ways to grow my readers. So, I was excited when I was given the opportunity to review a custom T-shirt from Allied Shirts. A shirt featuring my blog’s logo and URL would be a great way, I reasoned, to promote my new blog when I’m out and about. It was so easy to design my custom shirt. I was able to select the color of the shirt from a large selection of colors. I was thrilled to find a burgundy color that went well with my blog’s logo. I could also select the font type, size and color. I chose a beige font, which also coordinated well with my blog’s color scheme. In a very short time, I had a design that I was very pleased with!
After submitting my design, I received an email from the company saying that my logo was of lower resolution, and I was given a link to check out a proof for the shirt. I appreciated this service because it showed me that they really care about the quality of their shirts and want their customers to be happy with the end result. After checking out the proof, I decided that I was fine with the resolution and gave them the go-ahead to proceed. When the shirt arrived, I loved it!
The photo above makes it look redder than the actual shirt, which is more of a cranberry shade. I ordered the Gildan Ultra Cotton T-shirt, which they refer to as their “Budget Short Sleeve” and is made of high-quality 100% preshrunk cotton. I ordered a Large, although I often wear a Medium, because many T-shirt companies these days seem to make their shirts really tight. But I had nothing to worry about. These particular shirts are generously sized, and the shirt that arrived is, in my opinion, a true Large and isn’t tight-fitting at all. You can also select a Classic Short Sleeve shirt, which is a Hanes Beefy-T in a Classic fit made of long-lasting 100% ring-spun cotton or a Fashion Short Sleeve American Apparel Jersey T-shirt made of ultrafine 100% cotton jersey with a slimmer, stylish fit. There are also Women’s shirts with more “girly” cuts and long-sleeved shirts, as well as sweatshirts and hoodies.
