Grow Wild Day was a Blast!

About a hundred people showed up at the Softstar workshop on August 6th, 2022 for an educational, fun-filled day with Katy Bowman. It was a great opportunity to connect with Katy about her book, Grow Wild. Visitors discussed how to choose clothing depending on the movement-rich activities they plan to do with their families each day.

There was plenty to do inside the elves' workshop as well. Who doesn't love colorful mosaics? Gluing leather scraps to a big display board is surprisingly addictive. The leather mosaic created a bright and colorful focal point throughout the day.

Meanwhile, Tory guided visitors through the workshop and described Softstar's manufacturing process.

When people were ready to get outside and move, colorful sidewalk chalk guided them to the book walk at Marys River Park. The journey incorporated an engaging scavenger hunt.

The book walk itself was essentially a "tour" of 20+ printed spreads from Grow Wild.

By the way, why isn't it more common for humans to read books while going on a walk? Reading is usually a sedentary activity, yet it's much more engaging when you can cartwheel and hop on one foot along the way!

A few people even made it to Marys River to cool off afterwards.

Janel (aka Janelf) and Bryan fired up their oven to 800°F and cranked out some amazing pizza. It was super convenient after an active morning.

Rounding out the day, the showroom was hopping with Softstar enthusiasts who got to try on all the shoes they wanted.
