As I have mentioned on the blog before, we have always been big fans of the Orchard Toys range in the A house.  We had some of their jigsaws when Little Mr A was small and have been slowly building up a collection of games over the past 2 or 3 years.  We have also been lucky enough to review a few of their newer games over the past year for the blog.

We were recently sent two of their great jigsaws to test out and review.

First up was Farmyard Two Piece Puzzles.  This is a box of six, two piece puzzles each with a different farmyard animal.

As you would expect from an Orchard Toys product, the quality is great.  The pieces are made from very strong cardboard and the pictures are really fun, bright and engaging.

Although Little Miss A is not great at jigsaws yet, she is enjoying sitting and having a go and I am more than happy for her to explore the pieces without having to worry about her ruining them.

The puzzles are recommended from age 18 months + and make a great introduction to jigsaws.

There is also a large range of other two piece puzzles available, all with an RRP of £6.50 which I think is a great price.

We also received the Teddy Bears Picnic puzzle.  This is a 15 piece, shaped floor puzzle which, again, is of great quality.

The jigsaw is aimed at ages 2-5 and I think this is about right.  The pieces are large enough for little hands to be able to manage and the jigsaw is really bright with lots of great talking points.

The RRP for this jigsaw is £9.75 and I think this is a great price for such a high quality, long lasting product.

Jigsaws are a really good way of encouraging fine motor skills and also concentration and language skills as there is always something to chat about together.  I find that even with the farmyard jigsaw there is still lots to talk about the different animals and the noises they make.

When Little Mr A was small we would sit for hours doing jigsaws together and, as Little Miss A is taking more of an interest now in books and jigsaws it is definitely something I am encouraging more and more and I think these are great starter puzzles for her.

Disclaimer – We were sent these jigsaws in return for our honest review.  All photographs were taken by me and are not to be used without my permission.
