Earlier in the year we were lucky enough to work with Great Gizmos when they launched the NICI products on their site.  When they asked if we would like to be involved in their Christmas promotion we had no hesitation in saying yes!

A little about Great Gizmos…

Great Gizmos are an online provider of fun, creative and innovative toys. They sell a wide range of high quality products at competitive prices.  The items they sell are very different from those you can find on the High Street.

They sell toys for all ages from educational activities, craft kits, wooden toys and a gorgeous range of plush toys for both boys and girls.

To keep up to date with all of the latest news you can follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

The products…

Now on to the important part!  The toys!  We were sent a great selection of products to suit both the Little A’s (and something that I have claimed too!).

2013-11-11 13.07.37-1

First up is the Bird Bag Lil’ Pet Pals with an RRP of £13.95.  This is a great, bright and fun little lunch bag that is fully insulated to keep food hot or cold.  There is also a personalised name tag inside and it is wipe clean.  The bag is great quality and, although it is meant as a lunch bag, I have found it a really handy little bag for taking out and about to pop a few little snacks in for Little Miss A.  I think it would make a great gift for any young child as a lunch/snack bag and there are four designs to choose from to suit both boys and girls.

Next is the Kidz Labs Science Magic with an RRP of £11.95.  When Little Mr A first saw this he was very excited as he thought he was going to be able to do lots of magic tricks.  When we opened it up to have a look it is really more about science than magic and it takes a lot of reading through and a few other bits and pieces to be able to perform the ‘magic’.  At the moment I think Little Mr A is just a little too young to understand it and actually sit and have the patience to do it.  The product is aimed at ages 8+ which I think is about right and I do think they would have a lot of fun with it.

Little Mr A’s favourite item we received was the Plan Toys Build a Robot.  It does have a fairly hefty price tag at RRP £27.95, however, it is a great product.  It is a great quality wooden robot toy that you have to build yourself and it comes with four interchangeable heads, each with a different expression.  It is a very versatile and educational toy as it teaches children about emotions and fine motor skills as well as encouraging imaginative play, and being lots of fun!

It is aimed at children aged 3+ which I think is right.  I don’t think younger children would have too much bother putting the robot together themselves and I think they would have a lot of fun playing with it for a number of years.  At 5 Little Mr A is really enjoying playing with it, and showing us all the different emotions, as you can see from the photos below!

Next was something that I have claimed, Jolly Logan Sheep Beanbag Keyring with an RRP of £6.99.  I fell in love with the Jolly Logan range from NICI when we were sent our NICI items to review earlier in the year and this keyring is just lovely.  It is a great size and very soft.  It also has a very strong hook for the keys which is good as I have far too many!  I think this would make a great stocking filler for adults as well as older children.

Last up was a gorgeous NICI Grey Penguin plush with an RRP of £21.95 which has taken up residence on Little Miss A’s bed.  It really is as lovely as it looks.  It is incredibly soft and, at 35cm, is a great size.  Little Miss A has had lots of fun snuggling up with it.  I really do love the NICI range, it might be a little more than I would usually spend on a plush toy, however, the quality is great and is really worth the pricetag.
