Grammar Friday

By Pjfaur @peterfaur

Grammar FridayToday’s two grammar tips:

  • When you’re writing out a date, don’t use the ordinal form of the numeral. In other words, write “Today is June 19,” not “Today is June 19th.” It is correct, however, to write, “Today is the 19th.”
  • Use italics or underlining for foreign words. Either of these is correct:
    • I ordered beef. My French friend ordered the same, but he called it boeuf.
    • I ordered beef. My French friend ordered the same, but he called it boeuf.
