The government on Thursday imposed a ban on motorcycle riding in Karachi and Quetta on Friday (today) in order to avert the security threats

Soon after, Sindh High Court (SHC) dismissed the order in Karachi and summoned Sindh IG, advocate general (AG) and home secretary on Friday at 11am.

The Interior Minister Rehman Malik, after a meeting for reviewing security arrangements, ordered to impose ban on motorcycle riding from 6am to 7pm in Karachi and Quetta.

Malik also said that mobile phone services would also remain suspended in both cities from 10am to 6pm. However the final decision in this regard will be made today.

Malik added that displaying weapons would be strictly prohibited in Karachi. He also vowed to deal the elements involved in the killing of innocent people with an “iron fist”.
