On the sidelines of the unveiling of the tablet Nexus 7, the opening of theGoogle updates Android developer conference “Google I/O” in San Francisco, Wednesday, June 27, was full of ads. Google thus presented the latest evolution of its Android operating system, “Jelly Bean” and a media center. There are also discussed its draft glasses connected, that could be commercialized by 2014.

Google has used the event to showcase Android 4.1, named Jelly Bean (English name of the famous Dragibus), which will be deployed exclusively from the month of July on Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and Motorola Xoom.

A version of Android more responsive and tailored to individual needs

Without great revolution, but more fluid and fast, Jelly Bean opens the natural language speech recognition, including without connecting to Internet , and Google Now, a feature that provides real-time maximum information in context, as the time that it will do in the day, traffic for those who must take the road, the latest sports scores in his favorite disciplines, etc..

For its part, the notification system has also been improved, no longer requiring necessarily opening the application.

On the occasion of the presentation, it was announced that Google Play has topped the 600,000 applications available.

A housing spherical media

The Nexus 7 was not the only innovation presented to speakers and users, who were able to follow live the first day of Google I/O. Q’s Nexus, which comes in the form of a black ball, Google invests in the field of media players. While the Apple TV, this box connects to a TV and can distribute multimedia content to an Android device to another. It supports WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC (contactless technology). It must be launched initially in the U.S., for $ 299 (€ 235 approx).

Finally, even miserly in information, Google delivered a few tracks on his glasses connected project, unveiled earlier this year. Developers will be able to acquire and if desired, in early 2013, a first edition of “Explorer” of these glasses, for the sum of $ 1,500. A consumer version is meanwhile not expected until at best 2014.
