Google has just rolled-out the popular office file editing app, Quickoffice for free for all iOS and Android users. This comes shortly after Google acquiring the app. Users can now view, edit and create  documents, spreadsheets, and presentations as well as Microsoft Office files on their mobile devices and store them on Google Drive or phone storage.

I wasn’t really interested in this app until I saw this article on CNET, where I found out that Google is giving away 10GB of extra storage on Drive for just installing this app. Well, you can imagine how excited I was to install the app after that, right? And yes, I did install the app and got 10GB more Drive space, improving my total space from 15GB to 25GB.

I had to wait a few days to receive the updated storage space but it was totally worth it. Sadly, this space is not going to be permanent. According to Google, this extra 10GB of Google Drive storage will only be available for two years. And the offer ends after September 26, 2013. So, you have to install the app and sign-in with your Google account before September 26th to get this extra space bump. If you already have Quickoffice installed on your device, uninstall it and download the new app.

Hurry up and get it before 26th. And be patient. It may take a while for your Drive to get updated. You can check your current Drive space here.
