The GM Futurliners were a group of very stylish buses designed by Harley Earl in the 1940′s and produced by General Motors. They were used in GM’s Parade of Progress, which traveled the United States exhibiting new cars and technology.The National Automotive and Truck Museum of the United States is the website where you can find truly original pictures of these vehicles during those events.A total of 12 were built, and 9 were still known to exist as of 2007.
Of the 12 vehicles built in 1939-1940, 9 have been located. Two are beyond restoration and are being used to restore another Futurliners.
