Forging the partnership between Globe Telecom and the Tourism Promotions Board to offer the Globe Traveler SIM for free to tourists and balikbayans are Globe SVP Nikko Acosta and TPB COO Domingo Enerio III

Globe Telecom signed an agreement with the country’s Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) in support of the latter’s Visit the Philippines Again 2016 campaign. Recently, we were invited to the partnership’s launch to learn of the two initiatives seen to help in the boost of tourist arrivals.

First, Globe has committed to continue provide complimentary Globe Traveler SIM packs to foreign tourists and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) at the country’s international airports. The special prepaid SIM offers affordable local rates for mobile data, calls, and SMS services.

The Globe Traveler SIM exclusively offers TravelSurf, which provides users mobile data for seven days for only 11 USD or 30 days for only 23 USD with consumable load included. Further, unlike similar products from other countries, incoming calls are free, and international calls are charged only 0.40 USD a minute. Undoubtedly, it is a more cost-effective alternative to roaming.

Second, Globe will launch the Relive the Philippines video contest, where foreign tourists and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) can submit a video showcasing why they love the Philippines and what they want to do in the country again. The winner will get roundtrip tickets for two to fly back to a Philippine destination, complete with hotel accommodations and pocket money.
