Clutter, clutter, clutter... I have been up to my eyes in clutter for a good 6 months in my office. I have papers on top of papers, then samples crammed with samples and of course random things nuzzled in corners. It has been long over due for a big change. In my last collaborative post with HP I showed you my office before and after, by ditching my over sized printer for the smaller, sleeker HP DeskJet 3720. After I saw those pictures and people started entering my competition I knew my office needed a big change not just the printer. My desk needed a makeover.
I now have a space to be proud of. You cannot work in an environment clogged with 'bits', for me my creative flow comes to a stand still and distractions get the better of me. Making my desk space simplistic but personal is a difficult balance, for example I love a cactus so next to my required pens are my three little cactus! They are in simple white pots and give me a little green.
The main thing you'll notice is my big over sized purple desk is gone and I have a smaller white desk. If I'd of kept my previous printer I would very, very limited on space, but because I have the compact HP DeskJet 3720 it can live happily next to my computer.
Since adding the HP printer I moved it about a little in the office, to work out where was going to be best to put it. It went first of all on my desk, then onto my book shelf, then under my desk, but in the end it landed back on my desk for ease. I can quickly get things printed and it compactly folds down, making my space still sleek and clean looking. I must point out that having moved it about and know the weight, it really is so light I could potentially move it anywhere with ease.
I've been using this printer now for a good few weeks and I can honestly say I love it, in fact much more than my last printer, both aesthetically and in practice. The only thing it can't do is scan, but for me my previous printer I only scanned a handful of times over the year and a half I had it. Often I only use my printer for printing confirmations or maps to get to places, and the printing quality is spot on. Obviously I've now been using the HP app to start printing some of the numerous pictures I have! I'm now giving my office some well needed personality with these quality photos.
