Little Miss A and I were recently set a challenge by the lovely people at Ella’s Kitchen.

To celebrate the launch of their new My Little BIG Meals, they sent to us a bunch of fantastic child friendly art goodies together with their new range of meals and asked us to create some fruit and veg inspired art.

We were sent some baby friendly paints, made from vegetables, crayons, felt tips and paper so this morning we set to work creating some masterpieces!

As you know, Little Miss A does love to get messy so I pretty much left her to it.  She had a great time with the paint.  She spent ages mixing it around with the brushes and her fingers and even managed to get some on the paper!

I had also made her some potato prints and also cut a pear and a couple of mushrooms in half so that she could use these to print with too.

The painting was definitely a success!

Next I wrote FRUIT and VEG on some of the coloured paper for her to colour in with the felt tips.  In the past when I have given her felt tips they have gone in her mouth and all over her face, however, today she sat and actually used them properly (with a little bit of in her mouth too!).  She did a great job!

After all that hard work she needed a fruity snack!

So here we have it, Little Miss A’s final artwork?  What do you think?!

Here is a short video of the fun Little Miss A had!

Ella’s Kitchen My Little BIG Meals

The new range is designed specifically for growing toddlers aged 12 months+ and every dish in the range contains at least 5 different fruit and vegetables.  The range includes Veggie Moussaka, Chicken Curry, Beef Stew, Pork Stew, Chicken Paella and Bolognese Bake.

As Little Miss A has been poorly we haven’t got to sample the meals as much as we would have liked, however, what she has tried she seemed to like!

I don’t think they look over appealing, however, what baby food does?!  They are however packed full of vegetables and are a great size for toddlers who often need that bit extra after a busy day.

I don’t feed these kind of meals to Little Miss A all of the time, however, try and have things like this in for the occasion when we are eating separately and I need to give her something quick and easy.  They are also really convenient to take out and about as they don’t need to be heated and can be eaten at room temperature.

We had great fun creating our fruit and vegetable artwork and really like the new range of food from Ella’s Kitchen.  A big thumbs up all round!
