Getting Creative – Pretty Girls T-Shirts

By Meltingmoments

I have been trying to get in touch with my creative side lately, as you may have noticed with my previous posts: Hair Accessory Frame, Laundry Wall Art and Salt Dough Foot Imprints.

I have seen some beautiful girls T-Shirts out there in the past. Some with doilies, some with lace and pretty ribbons and buttons. I often admire the cute outfits I see on the little ones when we are out and about.

Now that B1 is in need of some new T-shirts, I can’t seem to find any in the shops that I like or that don’t cost the earth.

So, creative Angela began to stir inside me and I decided to give it a go and make some myself. It couldn’t be that hard. Could it?

I bought some cute, plain, coloured T-Shirts from Big W for the hot price of $3. From various shops I bought some lace, ribbon, buttons, and a few doilies.

These are the steps I took to create my master pieces (note that I am certainly no Martha Stewart here!):

Lay the shirt down and place your items where you would like them. I played around for a while to find my favorite design.

Take off all items except one and start sewing. I just used a needle and some white cotton, and hand sewed each item onto the shirt where I wanted it. Starting from the inside of the shirt, coming up through the shirt and item, and back under finishing the stitch on the inside.
