The weather gods have finally decided to smile on us. It's getting warmer and warmer and the sun has pushed its way through the clouds. People are spending more and more time outside. And there's no shortage of things to do outdoors in Amsterdam.

One fabulous way to spend a sunny day in Amsterdam is with a trip to the Albert Cuyp market.

Located on the Albert Cuypstraat in the coveted De Pijp neighborhood, the Albert Cuyp market is roughly 300 stalls of shoes and clothing, fabrics, luggage, fresh fruit and vegetables, toys, cheese, flowers and plants, jewelry and everything in between. It's also a great place for typical Dutch treats like herring and giant, freshly made stroopwafels.

It's the largest outdoor market in the Netherlands and has been entertaining browsers and shoppers since 1905.

The Albert Cuypstraat is also rife with cafes, pubs, restaurants, bars, and exotic shops.

If it starts to rain (as it is wont to do in the Netherlands), you can always take shelter at the nearby Heineken Experience or the Rijksmuseum.

The street is closed off to traffic, so the best way to get there is by public transportation. Or on foot if you've got the time and the weather's in your favor.

With it's laidback atmosphere and cultural diversity, the Albert Cuyp market is the epitome of Amsterdam.
