It is now less than a week until the world's largest club festival kicks off in Amsterdam. Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) will kick off next Wednesday, October 17, and run until Sunday night, the 21st.
It is a party like no other. It is not limited to any single venue - indeed, its entire appeal is based on the fact that this festival is spread out over 75 different clubs in the city. It will be hard to miss, and a shame, too.Â
This year is the 16th edition of this world famous party. The organizers are expecting (and ready for) roughly 200,000 revelers to descend on the city for this five day festival. 800 artists, including some of the world's best and most famous DJs, are performing at 300 separate events. You may be wondering, 'how the heck will I know where to go?'
Well, it's hard to answer that, but luckily the organizers have put together a pretty decent event website, where you can organize the program by date and venue - making the whole experience much more manageable. Just click on the dates that you want to head out and select a few clubs that you'd like to hit and you'll get a list of what's on.
For example, I'm going on Wednesday, and I know which clubs I like so it's just click-click-click and I can see the shows at Paradiso, Melkweg, Canvas op de 7de, Trouw and, why not, NDSM-werf and the EYE (near home). Doesn't look like a bad night out.
