Get Out & About for the Week of February 10, 2013

One of the things I love about Dallas, is that you can never be bored - unless you just want to be. From cultural exhibitions to live music, fashion shows to charity galas - Dallas has something for everyone! Here are a few event highlights for the week of February 10, 2013:
Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday, referring to the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season, which begins on Ash Wednesday. All I know is that it’s a good excuse to party!
On February 12, stop by The Quarter* bar in Uptown for a complimentary Cajun Buffet, $3 Abitas and $3 Hurricanes all night long, lots of beads and get ready to let the good times roll! The Quarter is located at 3301 McKinney Ave. (next door to Bread Winners), Dallas, TX 75204.

Faith is a short film that follows the lives of six young adults whose paths cross through a central character - causing their outlook to be determined by their reaction to circumstances, thus demonstrating that sometimes, you just need to have a little faith.
The cast includes some names you might recognize, including Melissa and Melissa Poe from Big Rich Texas,  Donny Boaz who played Larry Birkhead in Lifetime's The Anna Nicole Smith Story, Neill Skylar from Bravo’s Most Eligible Dallas and Kendall Morris who was Miss Texas 2011.
The premiere for Faith will be on February 13, 2013 from 7:30 - 9:00 PM at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas. Guests are free to arrive at 6:30 PM to mingle and meet the stars. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 online at: http://faithpremiere.eventbrite.com. Wait, and they will be $15 at the door.
Whether your married, dating or single there are lots of fun parties and events happening around Dallas this Valentine’s Day. Here are a couple of my favorites:
Cocktails and Kisses is taking over Dee Lincoln's Dining Room & Bubble Bar and will feature signature cocktails, an incredible DJ, photo booth, plenty of chocolate kisses and more surprises... The People’s Last Stand is hosting a Valentine’s Day Cocktail Class from 8-9PM. For $40 a person, you’ll learn how to make specialty craft cocktails to impress your friends… or that special someone. I recently attended a media lunch to try out their new menu and can vouch that not only does that joint have a cool vibe, but their food is fantastic. Frankie’s Sports Bar and Grill offers you a memorable way to mend your heart or at least drown it in good booze. If you think love stinks, then you’ll want to head to Frankie’s Sports Bar and Grill and take part in their Anti-Valentine’s Day party. You’re invited to bring a picture, a letter or an email from your ex to feed into a large shredder that meets you at the door.
