Now that bonfire night is over, I think I am completely justified in getting far-too-excited about the fact that Christmas is coming! This year I’ve been pretty calm so far, but I recently allowed myself to visit a nearby Christmas barn in order to get myself into the full swing of the festive season. I don’t necessarily go to these kind of xmas shops in order to buy anything (seriously, if you’d seen my boxes and boxes of christmas decorations, you’d stop me from going at all) but I love to go for a good old browse and they are always a great place to get inspiration for decorating themes and an idea of the ‘next big thing’ in the decorations market.
I visited the Redhouse Christmas Barn in Suffolk and had a lovely time browsing around the glittering barn with a cup of complimentary mulled apple juice. I then wandered into the yard selling UK-grown Christmas trees and went to check out Rudolph and his reindeer friends in the stables. Of course, I couldn’t possibly leave without buying something sparkly, so I chose a cute snow-globe which was very reasonably priced
If you’ve never been to a winter wonderland shop like this, I’d recommend it for an early-December shopping trip and there are places like this all over the country - check out the events listings in your local paper for Christmas barn opening events, or at the very least you can head to your nearest garden centre, and throw yourself into the Christmas department!
