Get a taste of NoLa at The Quarter bar in Uptown
Love New Orleans but can't find the time or money to get there this summer? No worries! For 13 years,  The Quarter bar in Uptown has been serving up a New Orleans vibe.  This place is one of my favorite haunts because it makes me feel like I am hanging on Bourbon Street. Everything you've heard about Uptown douchebaggery? It's not here.  What you will find is a life-sized Connect Four game, rockin' juke box, awesome photo booth, pool table and one of Dallas' best rooftop patios overlooking Downtown Dallas.  They have recently introduced 7 new reasons I will want to check-in there on a regular basis. Check out these French Quarter-inspired cocktails:
VooDoo Queen made with Vodka, Blue Curacao, Razz Berry, & Sweet and Sour  French Quarter Float made with Coffee Liquor, Irish Cream, & Root Beer Blue Bayou made with Captain Morgan, Blue Curacao, & Pineapple Juice Quarter Curse made with Southern Comfort, Razz Berry, & Pineapple Juice Hurricane made with Light Rum, Meyers Dark Rum, Malibu, Pineapple & Orange Juice, & Cherr
Hand Grenade made with Light Rum, Melon Liquor, & Pineapple Juice Soco Sazerac made with Southern Comfort, Lemon, Sugar, & Bitters
All cocktails are $6, except the Hurricane which is $8.

The Filthy Monkey (Chocolate Banana): 360 Double Chocolate Vodka, Malibu Banana Rum, and chocolate milk  Pirate Booty (Root Beer Float): Kahlua Coffee Liquor, Bailey's Irish Cream, and Abita Root Beer Berry Pucker (Strawberry Lemonade): Three Olives Berry Vodka, lemonade, and fresh strawberries  Kokomo (Pineapple): Bacardi Pineapple infused Rum with pineapple juice and orange juice Laffy Taffy (Strawberry Banana): Three Olives Berry Vodka, Malibu Banana Rum, and pineapple juice The Dreamsicle (Orange Julius): Stoli Vanilla Vodka, Pinnacle Whipped Cream Vodka, and orange juice
Blemonade (Blackberry Lemonade): Deep Eddy Vodka, lemonade, and fresh blackberries
And lastly, I leave you with this:

From their bar menu, a Pulled Pork Pizza topped with sharp cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, BBQ sauce, drizzled in ranch dressing.  Insiders know to order this with Mac 'n Cheese on top for that extra something special that will leave you dreaming about this for days.  The food comes from next door neighbor (and fellow owner) Bread Winners Cafe & Bakery which is why The Quarter has the best bar food in town.

Weekly Specials:  Mondays: 1/2 priced pizzas and $1 Pabst Blue Ribbon  Tuesdays: $2 Frozen Drinks and Select Draft Beers until 10pm  Wednesdays: 1/2 priced bar food until midnight  Thursdays: $2 Wells and Domestics and $4 select wines until 10pm  Saturdays: 1/2 priced burgers and pints from 12pm to 6pm  Sundays: 1/2 priced Texas Brands from 4pm until close
The Quarter bar is located at 3301 McKinney Ave. at Hall, next door to Bread Winners, Dallas, TX 75204. 214-754-4941. http://www.breadwinnerscafe.com/the-quarter-bar/
