It's on the second floor, next to Great Image.
For quite some time, I've been a fan of Gerry's Lumpiang Shanghai, Dinakdakan and Chili Cheese Sticks. Never mind that I've always been a fan of those Filipino favorites. I just love that Filipino cuisine is always tasty and spicy enough to enjoy with a swig of beer!
So can you imagine my surprise when Gerry's Grill opened at SM Centerpoint in Sta. Mesa, arguably the heart of Manila, the place where I was actually born? No you can't. And it doesn't matter. What really matters is that I got to feast on some of Gerry's bestsellers, which included the following:Crispy Pata Regular Php485 | Large Php595
Uber crispy skin + succulent, tender meat = Authentic Crispy Pata that guarantees a heart attack in every bite. The tart-yet-sweet sauce goes perfectly with this killer chunk of pork.
Beef Kare Kare Php335
My mom makes a mean kare kare at home, so Gerry's version to me tastes a bit too commercialized. However, the beef portions are generous enough, and the mildly spicy bagoong goes perfectly with the slightly sweet sauce that I can't just let anyone snub this Filipino classic.
Sizzling Sisig, Kare Kare, Sinigang na Baboy
Good thing the restobar offers a great selection of liquor and booze to satisfy the lasenggero within us Filipinos. Say "tagay pa" and enjoy (for the ladies) cocktails like margarita, long island iced tea, zombie and weng weng; straight drinks like absolut blue vodka, jose cuervo gold, johnny walker black label and baileys; and most San Miguel beers. Ooh, so more than just for shiz and giggles I sat down with the man behind the successful restaurant Gerry's Grill! Video originally appeared in Astig.ph website.
