German Rider Braves Rain & Wind To Win Stage 5

The 189.5 kilometer stage 5 of the Tour was up and down all the way, but with no difficult climbs it was expected to be another day for the sprinters. That turned out to be the case, but the ride was made more difficult by rain, wind, and numerous crashes. The top sprinters survived the difficulties though, and German Andre Greipel won the stage, while Peter Sagan of Slovakia finished second and Mark Cavendish of Great Britain finished third.
Stage 6 brings back some climbing, as the 191.5 kilometer course has three category 4 climbs and then finishes on a small climb.
