Winter ways are wonderful
When happy hearts make fun
Beside the icy waters
That are glistening in the sun.
A fairyland of wisdom
In the filigree of frost
Where the golden leaves have fallen
And the foliage is lost.
There is merriment and music
Found in woodland paths that freeze
From a rainbow in a puddle
Or a star caught in the trees.
