I was going to finish the Casper 4 Jigsaw Puzzles today, but there was talk recently on the Harvey Comics Facebook group about Alec Monopoly, and I felt I should contribute what I could to that discussion.

Alec Monopoly is the professional name of graffiti artist Alec Andon. While he is best known for his interpretation of Rich Uncle Pennybags (the Monopoly Man, Mr. Monopoly), he has also depicted Uncle Scrooge McDuck and, most importantly to us Harvey fans, Richie Rich.

In 2015, DreamWorks Classics gave Alec and retail company Forever 21 permission to use Harvey characters on a collection of apparel and accessories entitled the “Forever 21 x Alec Monopoly Collection”.

I found and tried to order the canvas tote bag from the collection, but the listing was old, the item was no longer available and the order was cancelled. I did, however, find a travel case from the collection, and it is today’s exhibit. It is interesting to note that while DreamWorks had bought Classic Media in 2012 and renamed them DreamWorks Classics, the bag credits the copyright to Classic Media, LLC. Also of note is the fact that this case is the 250th item to be cataloged in the permanent collection database!
