The Bakery to head to in Hyndland

Cafezique and Delizique owner Mhairi Taylor has expanded her delicious offerings to the West End of Glasgow with The Bakery by Zique. Mhairi is joined at The Bakery by Zique with pastry chef Lyndsay Michie who trained at Restaurant Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles and Le Gavroche in London and comes from another favourite of mine, Cottonrake.
I popped in yesterday to have a quick nosey at the new offering.

Located beside James Allen Butchers (Worth a visit as well), and over the road from The Good Spirits Co (Another worthy visit there), The Bakery by Zique fits nicely into the independent shops on offer.

After a breakfast in Cafezique, I was full to the bri. However a cuppa and a fruit scone was going "buy me!". I had just missed out on the last of the Pistachio Financiers, they were flying out the door as much as the sourdough loaves were. Ah well, I'll just *have* to come back again 😉

The inside of the bakery is comfortable, bright and very 70's - even the music in background. I was loving the relaxed atmosphere and soon my scone eating partner joined me to see the new addition to the Hyndland scene.

We settled down to a couple of pots of tea and scones with jam and delicious butter.

Fruity and fresh scones with good strong tea. A good dollup of jam provided and tasty butter that was spreadable- hurrah!
I was tempted to buy some fresh bread, however I had a long evening ahead and thought that was another excuse to come back.<

As well as bread and scones, there are breakfast options, sandwiches, some pasties, cookies, and lots of delicious looking cake. I'll have to take Mr Foodie along for a look and get some of that bread.
