1) this was the first of Ann's Foodies' London Walks.
2) It starts at Monument Tube, the Fish Street Hill exit. It ends very near London Bridge station.
3) Starts with - and is seasoned throughout with - fascinating, succulent (and, in some cases, shocking, appalling, not-so-succulent) morsels of London's food history;
4) Makes its way to London's best food market - draws a bead on it, does some serious appraising, let alone recommending (yes, that's right, apres walk tastings are on the menu - compliments of Ann's non pareil recommendation);
5) And the appetite whetted, and, yes, maintained, sharpened even (thanks to the walking, the exercise and all the olfactory, taste-buds and visual stimulation) it ends with some "further happy-making gustatory tips and recommendations".
