Fitbit Launches Its First ‘swimproof’ Fitness Tracker Flex 2

Posted on the 29 August 2016 by Gadgetscanner @jdsoni7

Fitbit Flex 2 is an ultra-slim,  minimalist in design swim-proof fitness wristband. The new Flex 2 features a removable tracker and interchangeable slim, classic fitness bands in seven colours. In terms of design Fitbit Flex, 2 is pretty unique. You can wear it like a wristband or even as a pendant making it a smart fashion accessory.

Flex 2 doesn’t come with a display. It uses four tiny colourful LED lights as indicators for your daily step count or to signal when your daily activity goal has been achieved, or basic functions like alerting you for smartphone notifications. A heart rate sensor is the key feature that’s missing here and is surprising as a lot of other activity trackers with much lesser price than Flex 2 feature a heart rate sensor.

It comes with Fitbit’s Smart Track feature, which means it automatically recognises when you’ve started certain exercise activities. You can expect a battery life of around five days.

The Flex 2 is priced at Rs 9,499 in India or $99 in the US with a classic fitness band in black, lavender, magenta, or navy. Accessory bands can be bought separately starting at Rs. 2,999. It does lack a lot of important features and may not fare that well against the likes of Mi Band 2 that sells at much lesser price and offers much more.
