A fisherman, who sustained serious injuries following an assault by another fisherman, died on Tuesday while receiving treatments at the Hambantota Hospital. The victim, K.P.Anura (61), was a resident of Hungama. His head had been damaged due to an assault by a fellow fisherman. The incident was following a verbal dispute between them on the night of April 12. Two fishermen had been consuming liquor at Guru Pokuna Fisheries Port.The suspect, who assaulted the fisherman, had been arrested after he surrendered to the Police on April 23. He had been remanded after being produced before court.
