Firestarter // Red Smokey Eye Makeup

Red Smokey Eye Makeup Red Smokey Eye Makeup, OCC Red Light Loose Colour, OCC Spark, Gold Glitter

My singular black friday beauty indulgence was on the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) Loose Colour and Glitter trio in FireStarter. Until now I had only ever purchased their lip tars and pretty much ignored their shadows. They were having a massive sale of 40% off so I decided to give them a try and actually their eyeshadows are actually killer. Super smooth, incredibly blendable and really good pigment. It's super hard to find vegan red eye shadows as most of them tend to contain carmine which is like powdered insect shell or something.

The Spark glitter is phenomenal, my picture really do not do it justice. In the contained it just looks like a white glitter but really it reflects these beautiful shades of both gold and red. I'm also considering purchases their blue kit, I do think it may be a limited holiday edition thing I am unsure on that.

From what I've observed from their social feeds and their frequent heavy discount sales come new year they might have a serious rebranding happening. From their inception they targeted more professionals as their consumer base even though their were still available to the public they were never super mainstream. It was definitely a big deal when they switched to the RTW packaging but besides that they haven't really don't anything to exciting or thrilling. I'd love to see them come out with some paletted and expand on their base range, their skin conceal is awesome and their shade Y3 is one of the few bases I've tried that is just my skin colour.

I was just thinking the other day while applying my makeup and cocktailing together a foundation shade of two different colors how rare it is to come across your perfect skin shade in cosmetics. I think it really is asking too much for every brand to get it perfect where every single person can find their perfect match but when you do it's awesome. I've only found my skin in two foundations ever and lucky enough they are both vegan and cruelty free. NO.1 Hourglass Mineral Veil Fluid Makeup in 3.5  Honey, a gorgeous formula and beautiful finish but with a punch to the wallet price tag. NO.2 The Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) Skin Conceal in Y3 and it has a wonderfully soft texture and just melts into the skin, I like completely destroyed my old one because the packaging was just not durable at all, but they have thankfully switched it's packaging to a way more durable acrylic container that is also very aesthetically pleasing. The only reason I haven't repurchased it is because I was sent three different foundations this year and I'm just trying to use them up. For me I don't actually wear makeup that often and when I do it's typically just for close up eye shots so it takes me ages to use up my base products.

I've also be experimenting with my brows in which I have a few brow focused posts in mind I think I might do. I have... a very strong passion for brows but have never really gotten my brows to a point where I'm really happy with them but I will share more details on that in a future post.
