Becoming a Volunteer
One of our most critical parts of our operation are our volunteers. We could not operate without them. If you are interested in applying as a volunteer, here is what you need to know.
Volunteer firefighting is a very rewarding and valuable way to serve your community. It takes dedication and many hours of training to become a firefighter. It can be valuable to you as this is the best way to become a career firefighter. If you’re willing to put in the time and effort, then we are ready for you to serve.
If you choose to join us be ready to commit
Being a volunteer requires a significant amount of time investment in training. We will invest in your training, and we want to make sure you complete the training. You have to have a clean driving record, have no criminal record and be at least 18 years old.
Becoming a part time firefighter
If you are interested in part time work please apply.
Requirements for part time status
- Firefighter I-II
- Three (3) years Firefighting Experience Minimum
- Hazardous Materials Operations (within 365 days of hire)
- Twenty-One (21) Years of Age by date of hire
- High School Diploma
- Valid Drivers License with good Driving Record
- NIMS 100 & 700
- Emergency Medical Responder (Minimum)
Becoming a full time firefighter
We on occasion, hire full time firefighters. We have a structured process that we go through. When we are hiring or about to we will post on our website. You can however apply anytime and we keep applications for one year.
Requirements for career status
Full time applicants must pass a written test, agility test and oral interview along with qualifications below.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Valid Driver’s License
- Twenty-One (21) Years of Age by Date of Hire
- Three (3) Years Firefighting Experience
- Firefighter 1 and 2
- Haz-Mat Awareness & Operations
- Emergency Medical Responder
Desirable Qualifications
- NIMS 100,200,700 & 800
- EMT Basic (within 365 days of hire)
