Finding the Motivation To Get Into Shape

By Lamamma @LAmamma1

Ask everyone if they’d like to be in good shape, and it’ll be a rare person who answers in the negative. But if everyone wants to be in shape, then why are there so many unhealthy people out there? The answer lies in motivation. It’s like asking people if they want a million dollars. Of course, they do. But only the people who work for it are going to get it. The good news is that motivation is one of those things that is attainable; with a bit of know-how, you can get it into your life. Below, we take a look at five ways to find the motivation to get yourself in fine physical condition.

Set A Goal

It’s no good saying “I want to be in shape,” because, well, what does the look like? There are people who are in shape because they’re bodybuilders; others just have the perfect BMI. Everyone’s biology and desires are slightly different. If you’re going to stick it out on your quest to get in shape, then set yourself a goal. It could be a matter of inches. Or it might have something to do with getting toned, or just all-around feeling healthier and more energetic. In any case, you’ll have something to work towards, which is always important when it comes to doing things we don’t really want to do.

Join a Gym

If you don’t naturally have a mindset that pushes you to work out, then you’ll benefit from joining a gym. If everyone else around you is working out and getting healthy, then you’re going to automatically up your game. It’s not just the modern gym equipment that you’ll help you along your journey to your fitness goal, either. Places like www.clubfitness.us offer classes, during which you’re lead by a professional trainer. When you’re being motivated to push yourself, then you won’t want to quit when you’re tired.

Buddying Up

Even if you’re a member of a gym, it can be all too easy to skip your session when you wake up and, for whatever reason, just don’t want to go. But during fall and winter, you’re going to have many days like that, and you might see that you’re barely going to the gym that you’re paying for. As such, it’s a good idea to join up with a friend, and hold each accountable. If you know you’ll have to explain why you weren’t at the gym to someone, you’ll be more likely to get up and out the door.

Reward Yourself

You’re doing a good thing by working out, why not reward yourself? We mean, the toned, sculpted body should be reward enough, but the novelty may worth it. If there’s an item you’ve had your eye on for a while, then tell yourself you can buy it if you work out [X] times that month. You’ll find you’re much more inclined to work out when you know there’s something good waiting for at the end of your efforts.
