Figure Drawing

   These last days, I took the time to practice a bit of figure drawing. These are sketches made from photographs… Not as intense as Life drawing sessions, but I tried to get a sense of gesture and movement, while applying the things learnt over the classes attended this year. 
Here are the sketches… 


A good thing with working from photographs : one can take his time and think beyond its subject. I start by setting up the pose and the anatomic details (that I know… as anatomy is still to be studied further…), and I let the drawing go, enjoying the graphical aspects and the lines : in this process, I feel a bit like when I was a schoolboy, doodling on my notebooks and letting my mind go… 'rêverie'… Drawing is often a dreaming process.
