Festive afternoon tea at Glasgow Malmaison
We jumped into the festive season at the weekend with a sneaky peek at the Malmaison in Glasgow's festive afternoon tea.
It was a busy afternoon with lots of ladies getting together with friends having some post (or pre who are we to judge?!) shopping drinks.
With Christmas decorations around and a chill in the air outside, we felt festive.
The festive afternoon tea will be available every day from Friday 1st December until Sunday 31st (with the exception of Christmas day). For £25, the festive afternoon tea includes a glass of Prosecco; Christmas fruit cake; mince pie; festive ginger bread biscuit; yule log; sherry trifle; turkey, cranberry and stuffing wrap; Mal slider; scone; pig in a blanket brioche roll and a choice of tea each. There are vegetarian and gluten-free options available too.
Teas include:- breakfast, Earl Grey, Darjeeling, green tea with jasmine, green tea with lemon, organic chamomile, organic peppermint, blackberry & raspberry and lemon & ginger. We picked the breakfast tea and Earl Grey, which was Yorkshire Tea breakfast and Taylor's from Harrogate Earl Grey.
The Mal Slider/mini burger was meaty and cheesy, the pig in blanket was a meaty herby sausage wrapped in bacon and the turkey wrap was absolutely stuffed with turkey with a plentiful amount of cranberry too.
The scones were Christmassy with candied fruit inside. These were served with jam and cream. The mince pie was dense and fruity inside, the cube of moist fruity Christmas cake was...well, Christmassy! The Yule log was a chocolate-covered Swiss roll, which was really chocolatey! A creamy sherry trifle with raspberry topped off the festive feel of the afternoon tea.
As with many other afternoon teas, it might not look like a lot of food but we were both stuffed and needing a lie down at the end! 😍
This would be a super way to spend time after a hard afternoon shopping when you need a bit of TLC and a rest.
