Feng Shui

By Emmielois @emmielois

Feng Shui The way you decorate your home can tell you a lot about your personality. I am currently in the middle of redecorating and enjoying looking round for bits and bobs that will be in my new room, so I thought todays post would be about interior design and some inspiration for a new bedroom.
    Globes
Feng Shui  Globes always look really interesting, especially the older 'antique' looking ones. I think they would be a great finish for a more bohemian styled room. Plus, if you are quite the adventurer, you could stick a pins in all the places you have been so you don't forget!
Tins
Feng Shui  Old fashioned tins are perfect for storing little bits and bobs that you have lying around. Plus, they can easily be found in most second hand or vintage shops and will be so cheap!   Ladders
Feng Shui
Maybe this one is not for the more superstitious people, but I think a ladder is a great little unique twist and looks so pretty with fairy lights wrapped around it (like in the picture). I could also be used as shelves if the steps are wide enough.   Mirrors  Feng Shui
A more obvious component for a room, but it's amazing what a mirror can do. My advise for smaller rooms is to have a big mirror because it instantly makes it look larger. I adore really fancy frames on mirrors! (like the one above)
Photos
Feng Shui
I am a huge culprit for taking pictures and NEVER getting them developed. I actually think I might get a camera with film in instead of a digital one so I have to be forced to go and get them developed! But perfect memories captured in beautiful frames are a must for any room.
Notice Board
Feng Shui
For those of you who have so many ideas and post-it notes and scrap pieces of paper scattered everywhere *raises hand* a notice board couldn't be more of a necessity. I would also put some fashion magazine cuttings on it too just so it looks a bit more fun.
Glass Bottles

Feng Shui
Why throw away empty bottles and jars when you can display them!? Put flowers in them, secret notes, sand and shells, make a 'note in a bottle' fill them with sequins or beads or both! The possibilities are endless...
I am so excited for my room to be finished and for me to start fussing about with where I am going to place everything. I have already bought a few pieces and my furniture has arrived, so it's all go from here.
Exciting!

P.S - Speaking of redecorating... what do you think of the new layout? I've widened the whole page slightly and made a new header - which took two days to get right - I'd love to know what you think!
