First age, size and now gender; the fashion world it would seem knows no bounds, as artistic director Hedi Slimane picked female model Saskia de Brauw, to pose for Saint Laurent’s Spring/Summer 2013 menswear campaign, last week.
That’s right, MENSWEAR!
After experiencing a short success within the modeling word, Saskia de Brauw left at the age of 16 to pursuit an education in art in her home time Amsterdam. Returning to her modeling career at the unusual age of 29, Saskia de Brauw has since been very successful having featured on the cover of Vogue. The supermodel has since modeled for popular luxury designers Givenchy, Eres, Paul Smith and most recently Saint Laurent Paris.
The 31 year old Dutch model poses makeup-less as a surprisingly very convincing teenage boy, aided by her cropped bob hair. The campaign was shot in Los Angeles in October and the collection will be available in stores this coming January.
